February Entertainment on Hollywood Beach
Hollywood Beach will play host to a variety of events in February, including Full Moon Jazz Night on Hollywood Beach (Feb. 2), Super Saturday in the Sand (Feb. 3), Broadwalk Friday Fest (Feb. 9 and 23), and Fat Tuesday on Hollywood Beach (Feb. 20).
Enjoy live jazz, dancing and stargazing at Full Moon Jazz Night on Hollywood Beach, featuring free concerts by Mantra World Music Ensemble from 6 to 8 p.m., and the acclaimed Jesse Jones, Jr. Jazz Quartet from 8 to 10 p.m. Fri., Feb. 2 in the outdoor Hollywood Beach Theater at Johnson Street and the Broadwalk.
Super Saturday in the Sand, an official Super Bowl community event produced by the City of Hollywood, will feature a full day of entertainment and family-fun activities culminating in a special concert by perennial fan favorite KC & the Sunshine Band.
Other highlights from 10 a.m. to midnight between Johnson and Michigan streets will include a Celebrity Flag Football Game (11 a.m.) with a Doug Flutie Band halftime performance (11:30 a.m.) and post-game autograph signing (12:30 to 1:30 p.m.); a Kids Zone (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.); Super Boat Grand Prix race (1 to 2 p.m.); “Beauties on the Beach” competition among NFL cheerleaders (2 to 4:30 p.m.); and a concert featuring Ruby Baker and Inner Circle, in addition to KC & the Sunshine Band (4:30 p.m. to midnight).

Mardi Gras festivities in Hollywood will end on a high note at Fat Tuesday on Hollywood Beach from noon to midnight Tues., Feb. 20. The 6th annual event will feature Louisiana-flavored food and music on two stages, including free concerts by Allen Toussaint & The Toussaint Band (9 p.m.) and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band (7 p.m.), plus children’s entertainment, costumed revelers and much more.

The ongoing Broadwalk Friday Fest series is presented free of charge by the Beach District of the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) from 7 to 10 p.m. every second and fourth Friday in the Hollywood Beach Theater.
Brazilian jazz singer Rose Max will take the stage on Feb. 9. The parading Bahamas Junkanoo Shakers will perform at 8 and 9 p.m. Broadwalk Friday Fest on Feb. 23 will feature performances by the Florida Singing Sons Boy Choir and the Future of Jazz Orchestra.
